Those Smexy Books: A RecList

Good book smut is hard to find, so here’s a list of some lip-smackingly good books. Mostly, the focus is on the key OTP bonding and world-building, and not just smut for the sake of it. There ARE exceptions, of course.

*Asterisk marks the ones that are really, really well-written.

1. Never Sweeter by Charlotte Stein**

Reformed bully trope. Try also, Stein's Restraint

2. Gypsy by Kristy Cunning*

Superbly plotted mystery with RH trope and humor too.

3. Broken Bonds by J. Bree**

RH with 5 guys and one central bond who ran from them for mysterious reasons. It gets a bit old after a while, but boy, those Books 1 and 2 were great.

4. Devil’s Day Party by CM Stunich

A standalone RH for a change.

5. Corrupted by Addison Cain**

If you can force yourself to get past the first 2-3 chapters, this book is seriously good. Definitely pushes some triggers though.

6. Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh

One seriously "alpha" werewolf/ shapeshifter hero. Try also: Singh's Slave to Sensation

7. Pretty Little Savage / Sick Boys by Lucy Smoke**

The bully trope at its darkest and finest.

8. Queen takes Nights**

The cover is squicky, the RH trope picks up well and very quickly. Ahem.

9. [Anything] by Tessa Bailey

Contemporary. Dirty talking is an art. Try out her earlier works for best effects.

10. Extreme Exposure by Pamela Clare

Who knew suspense could be so hot?

11. [Anything] by Evangeline Anderson*

Alien smut is great. Some goodies are Sweet Dreams, Defiled, Eyes like a Wolf, Claimed.

12. Knight by Kristen Ashley

13. After Hours by Cara McKenna*

14. Uncommon Passion by Anna Calhoun**

A sheltered but strong woman tries to adjust to the big bad world.

15. Trailer Park Trash by Alexa Riley

Umm, triggers! And also, zero plot, but very smexy.

16. It ain’t me, Babe by Tillie Cole

MC gang fights crazy cult.

17. Hung out to dry by Lorelei James

Zero plot, but very smexy.

18. Running Wild by Sarah McCarty

Werewolves with a focus on mating, ahem.

19. Fallen too Far (series) by Abbi Glines

Crazy teenagers, enough said. There be mild triggers.

20. Reaper's Property (Reapers MC, #1) Joanna Wyld

More of MC gangs, if that's your thing. Much more hard core though.

21. Undeniable series by Madeline Sheehan

More MC gangs, but with a longer running star-crossed couple in the background.

22. A Hunger like No other by Kristen Ashley

Can a vampire and werewolf ever belong? Oh yes. Also try out: Poison Princess.

23. Paper Princess (The Royals, #1) by Erin Watt

More crazy teenagers.

24. Real by Katy Evans**

Boxer meets physiotherapist, Cupids sing.

26. Sleeping Beauty by Cathy Yardley

Modern day retelling of the old fairytale.

27. Sweetest Oblivion by Danielle Lori**

Mafia story at its romantic best.

28. [Anything] by Jaid Black

Ellora's Cave, anyone?

29. [Anything] by Katee Robert

30. Big Bad Wolf by Christine Warren*

Try the audiobook version!

31. [Anything] by Linda Howard**

Always great writing and plot. Start with McKenzie’s Mountain

32. Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas**

Superb writing, super chemistry. Try the audiobook version!

33. Thea Devine's story in the anthology, "Fascinated"

Or really, anything by her, even if a bit old school

34. The Reluctant Nude by Meg Maguire

Don't be fooled by the title, this is an exceptionally well-written book.

35. [Anything] by Lisa Renee Jones

Contemporary suspense, formulaic after a while but totally smutty.

36. Prince of Ice Emma Holly

Supernatural smut. Eye-opening.

37. North Wolf by M.A. Evereaux

One of those lesser known books with werewolves.

38. Midnight Run by Lisa Marie Rice

Contemporary suspense, formulaic after a while but totally smutty.

39. [Anything] by Jacquelyn Frank*

PNR with loads of smut.

40. Lords of Satyr series by Elizabeth Amber*

Interesting themes and kinks, but think these had some RH or MFM triggers.

41. Writer’s Block Manga**

Literally what the title says. Very graphic but also gets very romantic.

42. Soulless 1 & 2 Manga**

Not too graphic but adorable.

43. Lady Chatterley's Lover by DH Lawrence

Well, we know why this was banned.

44. Lord of the Deep by Dawn Thompson**

Criminally underrated. Very innovative and well written.

45. Passion by Liza Valdez

Heavy dosage but with positive themes.

46. Morning Glory Milking Farm by C. M. Nascosta**

Exactly what the title says, so so good.

47. Easy by Tammara Webber**

Who knew YA/ NA could be this good?
